For years, I have heard about PrideFest from my peers. This year was my first year to attend, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. But no words can explain what an unforgettable experience it really was.
To say that parking was a struggle would be an understatement, but walking a few blocks was worth it. When I reached the event area, I was in awe. Thousands of people were dancing, singing and taking pictures together, as if they had known each other for years.
This was a judgement-free event. It was the one time that I could get away with wearing rainbow bell bottoms and no one cared. I spotted so many beautiful people in rainbow makeup, glitter and wild attire, and it was awesome! It was refreshing to see everyone – trans, straight, lesbian and more – making memories together.
