The Muny has unveiled the shows for its 105th season, with a lineup that features four Muny premieres with productions that range from a “tale as old as time” to an epic love story to a divine comedy and everything in-between.
The lineup for next summer begins with the regional and Muny premiere of “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” (June 12 to 18); followed by “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast” (June 22 to 30); the Muny premiere of “Chess,” which is presented in partnership with the World Chess Hall of Fame and the Saint Louis Chess Club, (July 5 to 11); “West Side Story” (July 15 to 21); “Little Shop of Horrors” (July 25 to 31); the Muny premiere of “Rent” (Aug. 4 to 10); and the season’s grand finale, “Sister Act” (Aug. 14 to 20).
The announcement was made this morning at The Muny in Forest Park following two weeks of “hint days” on social media that included Pantone paint swatches and word play as clues to keep theatre fans guessing.
“Our 105th season is epic, thrilling and promises another great summer of memories for our incredible Muny audiences,” said Muny artistic director and executive producer Mike Isaacson. “It’s an adventurous season that offers something for everyone, and we’re already hard at work to create seven spectacular productions.”
Season-ticket renewals begin in December, with new subscriptions on sale March 20. Single show tickets will go on sale May 22. For more information, call (314) 361-1900 or visit the Muny website.
