Actress, comedian, singer, activist Jenifer Lewis returned to her alma mater, Webster University, to celebrate her memoir, “The Mother of Black Hollywood.” The native St. Louisan currently stars in the ABC comedy hit, “Black-ish,” and through the years, has appeared on stage, on television and in films such as “Beaches,” “Sister Act,” and “The Preacher’s Wife.” Her recent appearance at the Loretto-Hilton Center on the Webster campus drew an enthusiastic crowd, many of whom were from her old North St. Louis County neighborhood.
