“Wine Spectator,” the world’s leading authority on wine, has unveiled its 2020 Restaurant Award Program, a coveted list that this year, pays tribute to the resilience of the restaurant industry amid a global pandemic

Cinder House at Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis has been honored with an Award of Excellence, the first wine award for the restaurant since its 2018 debut on the hotel’s 8th floor. The Award of Excellence recognizes restaurants whose wine lists feature a well-chosen assortment of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style.

“I’ve enjoyed curating a wine list that many don’t expect to find within a hotel. We’ve received some great feedback in terms of diversity and approachable price points. Introducing guests to wines of South America has been one of the highlights of my wine career,” sommelier Anthony Geary said.

“I’m proud of our team for sourcing unique wines at various price points – full-bodied malbecs to crisp sauvignon blancs – that truly enhance the dishes we are serving,” said Gerard Craft, the restaurant’s consulting chef.

Menu items at Cinder House feature wood-fired dishes with ingredients like locally sourced vegetables and seafood are further complimented by a large selection of South American wines.
